Temple B’nai Abraham strives to provide a warm and nurturing educational environment for our children. Temple B’nai Abraham’s Hebrew school is a small, friendly place that specializes in creating a positive Jewish experience for all of our students.
Our Religious School students work toward achieving their B’nai Mitzvah, some starting with Sunday School at age 5! However, Temple B’nai Abraham welcomes families with children of any age and experience looking to become a B’nai Mitzvah. We welcome interfaith families and students of all levels and can work with you to accommodate your family’s specific needs. Our warm, one room school house environment nurtures Hebrew learners and encourages our teens to continue their religious education post B’nai Mitzvah.
The focus of our Sunday School is to foster the love of Jewish learning within our youngest students. We offer Sunday morning classes, between 9:30 and 10:30. Sunday school classes include introduction to Hebrew letters and beginning prayers using song, music, and stories.
Our focus is on teaching Hebrew reading and writing skills, prayers, and Jewish holidays and history. We offer three different levels: beginning Hebrew (for all newcomers to our program), intermediate Hebrew, and B’nai Mitzvah training. We meet twice a week for two hours at a time – Sunday mornings between 10:30 – 12:30 and Thursday evenings between 4:30-6:30. Parent involvement and participation along with attendance at our weekly Shabbat services is strongly encouraged.
Enrollment in both Sunday School and Hebrew School is limited to the children of members.
